Who am I?

My journey with computers started pretty early with Amstrad machines back in my preschool years. Since then, programming has somehow always been part of my life, whether professionally, through personal projects, or simply because I enjoy figuring out how things work and making them work better. I wouldn't describe myself as the kind of programmer who keeps thousands of lines of syntax memorized and can reproduce an entire framework from memory. I could probably train my brain to do that, but I'd rather keep some of that storage space for my family, sailing, traveling, and the other things I enjoy in life. What I am very good at is understanding systems, logic, patterns, and learning fast.

Give me a programming language or framework I've never worked with before, and I can usually become productive with it surprisingly quickly. Once you understand how programming works, a new language is mostly a different way of expressing the same ideas. Maybe being good with human languages helps too. Turkish is my native language, I speak English and Russian comfortably enough to live and work in them, and my Ukrainian has reached the slightly ridiculous level where I can deal with my own accounting, contracts, government services, and legislation without running away screaming. I approach programming in a similar way.

I don't particularly care about being "a PHP developer", "a Python developer", or "a JavaScript developer". Those are tools. What interests me is the problem: understanding it properly, choosing the right tools, designing a sensible structure, and building something that actually works. Over the years I've worked with web applications, WordPress, APIs, databases, automation, Python applications, AI integrations, e-commerce systems, and plenty of strange problems that didn't fit neatly into any particular category. And that's probably the part of development I enjoy most.
